This is the guide on our accumulated experience in the past years working in the industry to help customers identify genuine crocodile leather.
The touch
Genuine crocodile leather should feel subtle and soft due to their natural collagen structure. The leather structure did not change during the meticulous tanning process by Viet Thanh Company, locally known as Viet Thanh Crocodile. We only use tanning chemicals imported from Europe to ensure the quality and fastened the feel of the final authentic crocodile leather product.
During our tanning process, the crocodile leather went through 2 main processes that define their softness that are pickling and fat liquoring. This removes the calcium components within the crocodile leather and further enhance the leather softness by infusing them with natural oil and fats that lubricate the leather fibers internally. The final product should be soft and subtle after the crocodile leather batches went through meticulous process from our skillful tanning house.
The look
Genuine crocodile leather often has pores that are irregular in their positions and shapes on the leather. The scale of genuine crocodile leather is also irregular in their shape, the patterns never repeat itself. Each of the crocodile skin has its own unique patterns that can only be applied on limited number of products. Therefore, each of our authentic crocodile leather pieces, whether large or small in sizes, are considered a one-time produced.

The test
We must fold and shape our products following our designs. And our designs, according to our philosophy, are simple because after all, the showcase of natural crocodile pattern is our focus. It is a symphony of leather mosaics that our tanning techniques aim to build and enhance every pattern scale carefully. During the folding, one can observe that the crease is firm, sharp and structured following the natural characteristic of authentic crocodile leather. Looking into the structures and firm crease, between the scale, there are “valley” lines that will follow along with the folding to accommodate the crease.
